Katie Fitzpatrick, BS

Teacher

Katie was born in Los Angeles but spent most of her childhood living in the wine country of Napa, California. During middle and high school, she played volleyball inside and outside of school. Over the years, she grew in her skills and spent her senior year of high school coaching a local middle school volleyball team. Shortly after high school, Katie moved to Lake Tahoe where she began her college career and started working as a mentor to at-risk youth.

She has always enjoyed working with children and became a volunteer at a few local youth programs shortly after moving to Bend. During college, Katie worked in the outdoor industry and became an outdoor instructor, teaching kids how to kayak and stand-up paddle board. Katie specializes in classroom design and aesthetics, and has made our program spaces cheery and bright. She is also our master gardener and has taught many preschoolers about growing food and mother nature.

Katie transferred to OSU-Cascades University when she moved to Bend from Lake Tahoe, California in 2009. She graduated with a Bacholer’s of Science in Human Development and Family Science with an emphasis in Human Resources and attained Suma Cum Laude.

During her time off, Katie loves being among nature – camping, rafting down the local rivers, and kayaking local lakes. She also loves to spend time walking with her two dogs and gardening.
