Linda Leary Richard, BA

Teacher

Linda grew up in Burlington, Vermont, spending summers at the family camp on beautiful Lake Champlain. After graduating from Trinity College with a BA in Sociology and a Minor in Education, she and her husband started their family. Their two girls were born, and they soon moved to the country where they grew most of their own food, raised buffalo, and started a Morgan Horse Breeding Farm.

During that time Linda started teaching, first as a kindergarten teacher, then special education tutor. This provided significant training, both academically and behaviorally, while working with K- 8 students. When their daughters finished school and migrated to the west, Linda and her husband sold the farm.

They started a new adventure, moving to the Florida Keys for 2 years where Linda worked as a Title 1 Tutor and eventually was recruited to manage the Computer Curriculum Lab, guiding students through reading, math, and science courseware. After leaving Florida, Linda settled in the Willamette Valley where she had the pleasure of working for the Linn-Benton-Lincoln ESD in Early Intervention Classrooms of 3-5 year olds for eight years. She received valuable training in this position including Behavioral Response Therapies, Handwriting Without Tears, and age-appropriate learning.

Moving to Bend in 2011, Linda increased her working experiences in the kindergarten classes at a local Waldorf Preschool & Kindergarten. In 2015, she joined the School of Enrichment staff and has welcomed the opportunity to become part of this caring family. She most enjoys connecting with all the children and their families and being a part of their growth. Most importantly, Linda has a unique and special presence that fills our classrooms with patience, support and love.
