Kristin Heath, BA

Teacher

Kristin graduated from The Evergreen State College with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis in Education. Throughout college she volunteered at a nonprofit organization, SafePlace, which helps women and families fleeing domestic violence situations stay safe. Kristin was a part of the childcare team where she worked with the children to help build their emotional and social skills while also providing a safe, compassionate environment for them to flourish. Kristin’s passion to teach stems from working with the children and families at SafePlace.

Upon college graduation, Kristin began teaching preschool with both typically developing students and those with various learning disabilities. This experience has helped her understand how to reach a wide variety of children, observing the children to see which approach she thinks would work best. She also has experience as an enrichment soccer coach, teaching preschool aged children basic soccer techniques while also teaching important social skills such as listening, teamwork, sharing, and resiliency. Making positive connections with children comes natural to Kristin.

Kristin enjoys hiking, kayaking, longboarding, camping, and taking her cat on walks throughout her neighborhood
